Pulsed EMF (PEMF) FAQs

PEMF is generally safe for most people — however, there are a few instances where you should not seek out PEMF. If you have a pacemaker, cochlear implant, defibrillator, or if you are pregnant, have blood clots, or are actively bleeding, we suggest you seek out other healthcare options.

No, PEMF devices cannot treat, fix, or diagnose health conditions. PEMF is meant for general wellness, as it stimulates and exercises the cells to support the body’s natural healing and regulating abilities. If you have health concerns, please consult your licensed healthcare provider.

Yes, PEMF can easily be combined with other modalities like chiropractic, massage, and physical therapy.

Massage FAQs

Massages can be given to someone who is completely clothed or in the nude. However, most people will wear underwear. What should YOU wear? Whatever makes you most comfortable. During the massage, sheets and blankets are used to keep you comfortable and the massage therapist will use draping to only expose the portion of the body that is being massaged. For example, if they are working on your left leg, you only your left leg will be exposed.

When a client is fully undressed, it allows for easier access to the low-back and glute muscles that are often associated with low back and hip pain or stress on the glutes from exercise or sitting for long periods of time. It also allows the massage therapist to utilize the same techniques using massage lotion or oil that they would on areas like your back.

No, a massage doesn’t need to be painful to be effective. There may be areas of your body that are sensitive and you may experience a minor level of discomfort when they are touched. Areas with trigger points, adhesions (aka “knots”), or areas where you are already experiencing pain or soreness can feel more sensitive. While massage therapists can identify areas of tightness and tension, they are not able to know your pain or discomfort level and it is up to you to let them know if you’re ever uncomfortable or would like a lighter or deeper pressure.
